Meet the Maker Monday - Rural Route Rust!

Here in just a couple weeks, the Rebel Junk team will be hittin’ the road and heading for Loveland, CO! We are so excited to travel and see new places, and to meet new friends! We would like to introduce you to a couple of our Loveland vendors, and we’re starting with Teresa Lorensen of Rural Route Rust.

Based in Avoca, Nebraska, Teresa and her family own and operate Bloom Where You’re Planted Farm. It’s the most adorable barn and farm, where you can take the family for activities like a pumpkin patch, hay ride, nature trail, and more. You have to check out their barn - it’s SO cute!!

Teresa was looking for a new market that would bring them west, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome them to the Rebel Junk family! We asked them a few questions so you can get to know Rural Route Rust just a little better:

Rebel Junk (RJ): How would you describe your personal style?

Rural Route Rust (RRR): We look for vintage pieces that will bring a historic and unique touch to buyers' homes. We are drawn to pieces that were used and loved by their previous owners, like vintage cameras, clocks, and kitchen scales and also love rustic/natural items like antlers and cow hides.

RJ: What got you started in the traveling market world?

RRR: We started selling antiques when we opened our pumpkin patch and gift shop in 2005. We wanted more year-round income so began traveling with our vintage and antiques in 2013.

RJ: What is your most treasured flea market find?

RRR: My most recent favorite is a double-sided hand painted "Cabins" sign bought from a fellow vendor at a show.

RJ: What is your favorite item to make or makeover?

RRR: Rustic, metal bases made into tables with reclaimed barnwood tops.

RJ: What is one food you wouldn’t want to live without?

RRR: Garlic bread!

RJ: What is one absolutely unique thing about you?

RRR: I have two cats with 7 toes on each of their front feet.

RJ: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

RRR: Norway (where my grandfather's family is from)

RJ: What is your favorite quote?

RRR: "Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage."

RJ: If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

RRR: Invisibility

RJ: If your life had a theme song, what would it be?

RRR spotlight4.jpg

RRR: Maybe "Airstream Song" by Miranda Lambert?

I’m pretty sure Teresa has just defined the word, “relatable.” Don’t you agree? Grab your tickets to come meet her and shop at Rebel Junk Market in Loveland, CO! We’ll see you there!
